Over There!: Le Monstre and Petit Pataud Return to Le Mans France

In 1950, Briggs Cunningham entered two Cadillac race cars to challenge Europe's best at the Le Mans 24 Hour race. This summer they return for the first time in 62 years to run in the Le Mans Classic. The biennial historic race celebrates past runnings of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and this year there is a Stars and Stripes theme. Both Cadillacs, also known by their respective monikers, Le Monstre and Petit Pataud, join other American drivers and historical race cars at this popular event . The Cadillacs hold special significance to the French public, since the famous luxury car is named in honor of the 18th Century French explorer who founded Detroit in 1701.
